Japanese Art Reimagined for Modern Spaces
Wabiku takes its name from two pillars of Japanese aesthetics: wabi-sabi, the art of finding beauty in imperfection, and haiku, the practice of capturing a universe of meaning in just a few words. We believe the same principle applies to wall art — a single image, thoughtfully composed, can transform the atmosphere of an entire room. That is why we create original artwork inspired by the great traditions of Japanese art: ukiyo-e woodblock prints, sumi-e ink painting, and the serene compositions of zen aesthetics.
Harri Reili — Founder & Designer
Harri Reili founded Wabiku from a deep appreciation for the way Japanese art balances boldness with restraint.
Each piece in the collection is designed by Harri from the ground up — studying the techniques of ukiyo-e masters like Hokusai and Hiroshige, composing the visual language, and refining every detail until the image captures the essence of the original tradition while feeling fresh and contemporary. Based in Estonia, Harri creates digital artwork that bridges centuries of Japanese artistry with a modern European sensibility.
Every Wabiku print is produced in the EU and UK using museum-grade materials. We work with certified print partners who share our commitment to quality and sustainability. From FSC-certified paper to fade-resistant archival inks, every detail matters.
Museum-grade paper and canvas built to last generations without fading.
FSC-certified materials, eco-friendly inks, and responsible manufacturing.
Every design is carefully composed and every piece is crafted with intention.
Japanese art has captivated the world since the 1860s, when ukiyo-e woodblock prints first reached Europe and transformed Western art. Monet, Van Gogh, and Klimt were all deeply influenced by the flat perspective, bold outlines, and nature themes of Japanese masters. Today, the Japandi design movement — fusing Japanese minimalism with Scandinavian simplicity — has made this aesthetic more relevant than ever.
We create art inspired by these traditions because we believe Japanese aesthetics offer something uniquely valuable: a deep respect for nature, an embrace of impermanence, and a mastery of visual harmony. From the great wave of Kanagawa to the quiet contemplation of a zen rock garden, each piece invites you to pause, reflect, and appreciate the beauty in every moment. That is the purpose behind every Wabiku print.
